Chocolate Mug Cake Mix
This quick to make, convenient mug cake mix is possible because of Perfect Keto MCT Powder! When making any type of cake, fat is an essential ingredient. But, with the addition of a dry ingredient fat source you can easily make baked good mixes ahead of time and store for later use. The shelf life on the mix is also very long, staying fresh for up to six months.

This recipe has the potential to be excellent. Simple, convenient, and potentially tasty!
However, for MY palate, the 1/2 tsp. Himalayan Pink Salt was WAY too much. The salt all but overwhelmed the chocolate flavour of the resulting cakes, making them almost inedible. After giving a second cake a try, I threw the rest of the mix in the trash.
Next time I put together a batch of this mix, I’ll be cutting the amount of salt in half, to 1/4 tsp, then I hope it will be problem solved. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
I like to add a dash of cinnamon and some chopped walnuts. Also I cut in half and put a few Lily’s Chocolate chips on and microwave for a few more seconds.
The net carbs calculation on this recipe is definitely off. Maybe Perfect Keto changed their chocolate powdered MCT oil formulation? According to my can, it has 4 carbs and <1 fiber per scoop. That would be almost 8 g net carbs per cake without the addition of cocoa powder (2 g nc/tbsp for Ghirardelli) or almond flour. Way, way more than the 2 g NC printed in the recipe! Nice flavor for an almond flour cake, but not my favorite on the website. Glad I can afford the higher carbs for the convenience.

Hi Raya! This recipe is for 4 servings, did you calculate per serving?
Hi, Miranda! Thanks for the response. The recipe calls for 8 scoops of PerfectKeto chocolate MCT oil powder, so each serving would be two scoops. At 4 g NC per scoop, that’s a minimum of 8 g NC per cake. No fiber or sugar alcohols to subtract from the powder, so… yeah. For the mix I made, each 1/2 c mix would be 8 g NC (PKMCT pwdr) + 2 g NC Ghirardelli cocoa pwdr + 0.7 g NC almond flour + 0 g NC Monkfruit granular sweetener ~= 11 g NC. Add an egg, and that’s about 12 g NC per cake, not 2-3 as shown. Pull out a can of PerfectKeto Chocolate MCT Oil Powder (or look it up online) to double check me, but it looks like someone forgot to include the MCT oil POWDER in the net carbs. Oil would be zero, but the powder apparently isn’t?
How much is 8 scoops? I always forget how many and have to start all
Over again. Is it 1 C or 3/4 C is so much easier to blend! Thank you ?
Lost my scoop for the MCT oil powder. What would 8 scoops measure in tablespoons or cup wise??
What size jar are you using to store this mix (one shown in post)? ~ Thx
Only one cup of powered ingredients plus a few tablespoons. How is it possible to make 4 servings of half cup each? That equals 2 cups.
Did you count the 8 scoops of MCT oil powder? I’m guessing you’re calculating 0.5 c almond flour + 0.25 c cacao + 0.25 c erythritol = 1 c, but I suspect the additional 8 scoops of MCT oil powder is the other cup to total 2 c or four 0.5 c servings.
I’m confused about this too. I don’t have MCT powder so I will be using coconut oil instead. How much of the mix do I use? From what I understand is that I have 1 cup of ingredients which would only make 2 cakes and not 4.
I don’t have MCT oil powder, but I have butter powder and cream powder. Will either work as a substitute at the same amount?
Can I substitute erythritol with something else? Because I made this at home but didn’t like the taste. Thank you.
Yes, you can use whatever sweetener you like! We have a low carb sweetener conversion chart that might help: Low Carb Sweeteners Conversion Chart
As much as I love every recipe I have made from this website, this is by far one of my favorites! I love how easy it is to make a single serving of cake. I pack a 1/2 cup in a baggy, an egg in a firm Tupperware, and then when I am ready for cake, I add them together in my coffee mug at work and pop it in the microwave. When finished cooking, I pop it onto a plate, clean my coffee cup and make a cup of coffee to go with it! I think I am going to pack some Lily’s chocolate chips in it the next time. Or maybe put some peanut butter on top. Or maybe both!
You can never go wrong with peanut butter and chocolate 🙂
We don’t have a microwave. How do you make these in an oven?
Is 302kcal per one mug cake? Or for the entire 4 servings?
It is for 1 mug cake.
These are very tasty! After looking at all the ingredients it doesn’t seem to calculate to 2g net carbs. Am I missing something? Can you tell me how you get the nutrition numbers and Net Carbs? Can you break down the net carbs in each ingredient for me?
You can great a recipe on your food tracker app and subtract the carbs from erythritol and any fiber in the ingredients 🙂

You can use a food tracker app the calculate the nutrition and then subtract the fiber and erythritol to get net carbs. Some different brands of ingredients may have more or less carbs.
carb manager is coming up with 4net per serving, when I swap oil Mct oil powder for coconut oil…is this right?
Love this mix recipe and have been using it for a couple of months. I tried to make a vanilla cake version subbing out the cocoa powder for the same amount of vanilla whey isolate protein powder. The first attempt it was a lot more dense and eggy tasting. The second attempt, I added in about 1 1/2 tbsp of almond milk. Same result.
Wondering how I could make a mix using the MCT oil powder that is vanilla (actually the motivation behind the vanilla version was to make a cinnamon roll version).
You can buy vanilla in powder form for baking. Add as much as you need to achieve the right flavor.
