Matt’s Favorite Keto Cookies
This was the second keto cookie we made in the KetoConnect kitchen, and for the second time we struck gold… or should I say fudge?! These cookies are perfectly soft and cake like, with an ever lasting chocolatey taste. And, they are by far Matt’s favorite. To give you some insight, Matt will literally eat anything. He loves ANY dessert so long as it doesn’t have a weird smell. And, even with all possible keto desserts to choose from he has chosen these Chocolate Fudge Keto Cookies. If that doesn’t say it all than I don’t know what does!
Holiday Festivities
These Chocolate Fudge Keto Cookies are great for any occasion, but have come at no better time than now, the holiday season. As you attend parties and dinners, and bake desserts for the rest of your family you can have these keto delights right there ready for you to enjoy!
Our favorite part about these keto cookies is how simple they are. The subtly sweet, intense chocolate flavor that you get with each bite is the result of some unsweetened coco powder. The coco powder mixed with the almond flour gives the cookie a soft, chewy texture great for dipping in coffee or almond milk, or leaving out for santa hehe. You add some peppermint extract to these to make mint chocolate cookies as well! The real reason Matt loves these cookies is the consistency of them. They are soft, cake-like cookies. That can be hard to achieve when it comes to keto baking, but the cocoa powder in these really allows you to achieve a nice, soft baked keto cookie! They are so good that it was hard for us, including Miley, to keep our hands (and paws) off of them. Not to worry though, we got some great pics before they were devoured!
Chocolate Fudge Keto Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup swerve confectioner
- 1/2 cup Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1/4 cup Butter
- 2 large Egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup Almond Flour
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1 pinch Pink Himalayan Salt
Instructions:
- Combine cocoa powder and swerve confectioners sugar in a mixing bowl.
- Add melted butter to mixture and combine with a hand mixer.
- Once combined, add eggs, vanilla, and baking powder and mix again.
- Now add the almond flour and mix one last time. You should have a fairly thick batter that can easily be shaped by hand.
- Form into cookies and place on a greased baking sheet. The cookies will remain the shape you form them to after cooking. They do not expand too much.
- Dust the tops of cookies with erythritol. (optional)
- Bake at 350 for 12-15 minutes. Let cool and enjoy! These are great straight out of the freezer as well. These can be frozen for 2-3 months!

Hi,
What is the serving size (I’m hoping you’ll say the whole batch nets 2 carbs, but I’m not holding my breath : )
Thank you!
Olivia Kendrick says
The serving size is one cookie
Concetta says
Holy cow! I just tried these, and they are amazing!!! They taste like fudgey brownies. So yummy warm right from the oven. Will definitely be using this recipe again.
Maryam says
I think I might be a little dense on this one but I’m never sure about the serving size in your recipes. Does what’s listed about mean that the recipe gives 10 cookies and they’re 132kcal per cookie? So one serving size is one cookie?
PamiSueBee says
I don’t have any cocoa powder on hand. Can I use Baker’s chocolate squares and less butter?
Lauren (KetoConnect) says
Give it a try! You’ll have to recalculate the macros though. Comment back here and let us know how your new cookie concoction turns out!

These weren’t sweet, very bitter, so I had some icing left from Keto cinnamon rolls I made a few days ago that was the perfect topping to add a little more sweetness. I’ll try these again with a little extra erythritol next time and less cocoa. Great consistency though.

These are pretty good. Not too sweet. But it reminded me to ask you guys, is there a way to eliminate the “cold” feeling that I get when eating things with erythritol? I made your chocolate chip cookies before and those were really “chilly” feeling in the mouth. It’s not just me, I shared them with a co-worker and she felt the same.
Also, what’s the serving size on these, just so I get the nutritional info correct?
Thank you!
Cass (KetoConnect) says
One cookie per serving! And no, the cold feeling is just something you have to deal with when baking with erythritol!

I don’t think I have made one of y’alls recipes that my husband and I haven’t liked. These are one of my go-tos when I need chocolate. Sooooo good! And I have also added a little Lily’s chocolate chips as well as a touch of mint extract. YUM! Thanks, you have made Keto very enjoyable which makes it easier to stick to it!

Love your videos! Have you made your PB in the Vitamix? I love using mine for that, it is so smooth and good. Nothing like a vitamix.
Robin says
I noticed the serving size is 10. Are the macros for a total of 10? How does that work? And How many are we supposed to eat? I’m confused.
Cass (KetoConnect) says
The nutrition info is per serving. If you made 10 cookies, it’s for each cookie.

, my question is I noticed it says unsweetened cocoa I went to the website where they are selling unsweetened cocoa and saw the ingredients and surprisingly it has actually had more carbs than the cocoa that I have which is the special dark by Hershey’s so I’m trying to understand it doesn’t have any sugar in it so I’m trying to understand wouldn’t what I have work
Cass (KetoConnect) says
cocoa has some natural carbs in it, depending on how dark you get it.

Totally makes sense why these cookies are Matt’s favorite. They are AMAZING!!! I made my first batch this morning and whoa…just whoa! Nice and soft, and I’m loving the cocoa powder bitterness taste.
Question: Is there any way to make them a tad sweeter? Perhaps adding a few drops of liquid sweetener, or will that compromise the texture/recipe?
Regardless, these are a huge win in my household! Thanks for sharing!
Cass (KetoConnect) says
Yep you could add some more sweetener!
Terrye says
Can I use monkfruit
Miranda (KetoConnect) says
Yes, you can use any sweetener you prefer!

Hi, I made these today and the first batch was dry, so the next few I cooked 1 minute less and that helped 🙂 My question is this – While they seem to have turned out good, my batter was thick but very sticky?? I saw your video and your batter was able to be held and shaped. There is no way I would have been able to pick mine up I dropped by spoonful onto the baking sheet and used my fingers to form the cookies. I couldn’t use a spoon or a silicon spatula, even, the batter was sticking to everything I tried. My fingers worked best.
All of that being said, they are very tasty. I’d just like to be able to solve this mystery 😉
Robin says
Hey Missy! My batter texture sounded exactly like yours when I made them last night. To fix it I added 1/2 cup more of almond flour. I’m not sure our mixtures came out like that. I followed the recipe correctly. Next time I want to add more Swerve since I had to add more almond flour.
Stellina says
These are the best! My teenagers love them and their friends couldn’t believe they were ‘healthy’, thanks so much. Great recipe and super quick and easy to make.
Madge says
I love these best from the freezer, apparently. Can’t stop eating them! That’s bad. I’ll only make them for an occasional treat. They are too good!!!
Natalie says
Can I add peanut butter and make it a peanut butter fudge keto cookie? I mean, yes, I know I can, I just want moral support.
Matt Gaedke says
You have our suppurt 🙂 I think they would come out delicious.
Nea Nilsson says
If anyone ever wondered. These work without any flour I forgot to add it by accident and they turned out pretty good. (I would recommend using almond flour though haha)
Matt Gaedke says
Woah, interesting.
Beth says
OMG – these are the best things I had for a long time. Just relieved my cravings perfectly <3 <3
Vic says
These are more like little half cupcakes. I measured by tablespoons, so I got 21 two inch cookies.
Fran says
Hi guys! Love your videos & recipes! Have you made these cookies using your secret ingredient? (Beef Gelatin Powder). If so, how did it work out? Thanks!!
Susan says
Just made. Delish! I made half the recipe and got
Nine cookies. Small, not tiny, but I got to
eat two!
